What is Nosework?
A very popular sport on the island, nosework teaches your dog to search for odours (essential oils). They learn to ignore distractions like food and indicate to you where the source of the odour is.
People think of physical exercise, but mental enrichment is just as important for dogs. Nosework is a fantastic way to meet these needs by getting them to focus, problem solve and use that brain!
This is a fantastic sport for building a dogs confidence as it requires independent problem solving. We start easy to give your dog quick success and add challenges as your dogs confidence grows!
All Classes are Reactive Dog Friendly!
Introduction to Nosework
Build a confident searcher
We start with food searches to build independent confidence, then transition to the wintergreen essential oil.
Impulse control
Nosework requires your dog to ignore distractions. We will work on impulse control around food and other stimuli.
